The British Academy for Training and Development offers a training course on The Installation and Maintenance of Electric Pumps, aimed at anyone interested in learning about the importance of pumps in industrial plants.
A pump is a complete mechanical unit powered by an electric or thermal motor. It consists of cavities connected to suction pipes and linked to discharge pipes at the top. There are dynamic rotating pumps, positive displacement pumps with pistons, and diaphragm pumps. All these types convert electrical energy into mechanical movement and then into hydraulic energy to pump liquid (mostly water). Currently, electric pumps are the most widely used and play a significant role in various industrial plants, particularly in energy storage and power generation.
